Usage blue®m products

I do not have implants. Can I use blue®m?

Sure! In the early years, blue®m started developing products for people with implants. Over the years, however, the products have been thoroughly innovated. blue®m products are also very suitable for natural teeth to ensure healthy gums or to treat problems in the mouth.

I find the toothpaste and mouthwash to be rather sharp. Why is that?

The sharp taste is caused by the wintergreen oil. This oil is very aromatic with a sweet, woody and ‘minty’ smell. Wintergreen oil is used topically or aroma-therapeutically as a remedy for muscle and joint complaints, arthritis, cellulitis, obesity, poor blood circulation, headaches and many other diseases and discomforts. It also works antibacterial. Taste is of course a subjective concept, but we also think that a fresh breath is important.

Do I have to rinse my mouth with water after using toothpaste or mouthwash?

To utilize the effect ingredients as good as possible, it is better not to rinse with water. Only spit out the excess and if necessary, rinse with mouthwash after brushing.

Can I swallow the products?

There are no harmful substances in the products, which makes it possible to swallow it. Nevertheless, we advise not to do this and always spit it out.

How long should I use the blue®m products to get results?

With many mouth problems, results can already be observed after 1 to 2 weeks of use. In most cases (periodontitis, peri-implantitis), it is important to continue to use the products for life in order to prevent relapse. Read our guidelines for more info.

Can I safely use the products during my pregnancy?

All oral care products can be used safely. For the use of the teeth & bone formula, it is good to consult your doctor.

Can my child (baby, toddler) use the products safely?

The products are suitable for children from 3 years. An exception applies to:
– teeth & bone formula is not suitable for children under 17 years.
– fluoride toothpaste: for children aged 6 years or younger, do not use more toothpaste than the size of a pea.

Can I use the products in combination with homeopathic products?

The use of mint can reduce the effectiveness of homeopathy. Therefore it is advisable not to use homeopathic products after you have just brushed your teeth. The best time to take a homeopathic medicine is 15 minutes to half an hour before a meal or an hour after a meal.

Can I use blue®m in combination with chlorhexidine?

For the best wound healing, it is best to use only blue®m products. When you combine blue®m with chlorhexidine, you still kill all bacteria in the mouth and disrupt the bacterial flora. Our products ensure that the bacterial flora stays in balance and also stimulates the good cells instead of killing them. Chlorhexidine does the opposite, and therefore it is not advisable to combine the use of chlorhexidine and blue®m.

 

Can I continue to brush with my own toothpaste whilst using the oral gel?

It does not hurt to use your own toothpaste in combination with blue®m oral gel, although you will not get the best results. Different ingredients are best absorbed in different ways. By using multiple products, you create the best conditions for a healthy mouth!

Why is there honey in your products?

The honey from blue®m toothpaste and blue®m mouthwash gradually releases oxygen when it comes into contact with the saliva in the mouth. The system that is put into operation is called glucose oxidase (GOX). In addition, honey normalizes and controls malignant bacteria and helps to reduce plaque formation.

Where does the honey come from your products?

The honey is cold-hewn, organic honey from Mexico. Beekeeper De Traay in Lelystad (The Netherlands) delivers it to the factory where our products are made.

Do I get cavities because of the honey in your products?

The sugars from the honey in blue®m toothpaste and blue®m mouthwash are converted into active oxygen when it comes into contact with the saliva in the mouth. This is called the glucose oxidase process. Before the sugars can effect the teeth, they have already been converted into active oxygen. So, no risk of caries!

What is xylitol and what does it do?

Xylitol is a natural sweetener that we get from the birch bark. It has been proven effective against the Streptococcus mutans bacteria and preserves a protective layer around your teeth so that new plaque can not accumulate well.

What is lactoferrin and what does it do?

Lactoferrin is an anti-inflammatory protein that is naturally present in your saliva. It works immune-enhancing, antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal. In addition, it promotes the proliferation and differentiation of osteoblasts; it stimulates bone growth.

Why is there SLS in your products?

SLS is an ingredient that is mainly used for its cleansing and emulsifying properties: it helps to loosen the plaque and provides a better solution of flavors in the liquid. SLS is not recommended in cleaning products because it can cause dryness of the skin. Because we do not think you use our mouthwash and oral foam on your skin, it does not do harm. We use SLS as a foaming agent in low doses.

Why are there parabens in your products?

blue®m tries to keep its products as natural as possible. However, we will also need preservatives to ensure that all our products remain free of bacteria. In addition to oxygen, we use several fungicidal and bactericidal ingredients, including methyl parabens. This is the synthetic variant of benzoic acid. Our body easily converts this synthetic form into its own form in nature. We have ensured that there is a very low concentration of parabens, just enough to ensure the shelf life. Nevertheless, it is our desire to eventually replace the parabens, our chemists are busy experimenting with this.

Is there alcohol in your products?

There is a small amount of alcohol in the mouth spray and the oral gel. This is necessary for the shelf life of the products. The alcohol in the mouth spray is needed to spray. It does not endanger your mouth, nor does it dry out, because the alcohol has already evaporated before it reaches your mouth. All of our other products are alcohol-free.

Why is the toothpaste blue?

Originally, the toothpaste has a brown color, because of the honey. Research shows us that users of toothpaste can not appreciate a brown toothpaste and would not purchase it. The most commonly used colors for toothpaste are white and blue. Because oxygen is blue in its liquid form, we have chosen this color. This also fits well with our name blue®m. The coloring that is in the toothpaste and mouthwash is a natural coloring and is not harmful to the body. The oral gel, mouth spray and neutral mouthwash do not contain coloring agents.

How does the toothpaste reach its blue color?

Cl 42090 (brilliant blue) is the ingredient that ensures that our products have that amazing blue color. It is a coloring agent but is poorly absorbed by your body, so you can fortunately find more than 95% of the swallowed color in your stool.

Allergies

I have lactose intolerance. Can I use the products?

The lactoferrin used in all our products, except the mouth spray and oxygen fluid, is made in a factory where lactose is also processed. Therefore, the products may contain traces of lactose. Since only a very low percentage of lactoferrin is added, this does not pose any risk for users who are lactose intolerant .

 

I have a cow’s milk (or a cow’s milk protein) allergy. Can I use the products?

The lactoferrin used in all our products, except mouth spray and oxygen fluid, contains 96% pure cow’s milk protein. In our recipes a very low percentage is processed, which means that the end product contains 500 ppm lactoferrin (500 mg / kg). If you swallow more than 10 grams of end product, this can pose a risk.

Incorrect/damaged deliveries

If you have received incorrect or damaged goods or if goods are missing, please send a message to BlueM customer service. If you have received a product you did not order, leave the package sealed. An unwanted product that’s used, is considered a product that is accepted by the customer and can not be returned or exchanged. BlueM retains ownership of goods sent by mistake.
